The Beautiful South

The waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss are for sure highlights on our way along Iceland's green south coast. At the first one you can even change perspectives and get behind the fall (and just a little wet...). But already the drive there along the coast is spectacularly scenic. We'll see volcanoes and glaciers, even the famous Eyjafjallajökull that broke out in 2010 and brought European air traffic to a halt for several days. We'll visit black sand beaches with bizarre rock formations and even Iceland's southernmost town, Vík í Mýrdal, surrounded by cliffs which in summer teem with birdlife.
